Semesta High School students succeeded in raising the national flag Sang Saka Merah Putih after achieving two awards at the CASTIC event in Chongqing China. China Adolescents Science & Technology Innovation Contest (CASTIC) is an international scientific work / science project competition organised by the Chinese government. This year, more than 10 countries from Thailand, Laos, Mexico, Kazakhstan and other countries participated. The 2023 CASTIC is the 37th event. Semesta School sent two of its best students to this competition. Melati Ayundhita and Calista Aditia Class, belonging to grade 11 of SMA Semesta BBS won the Gold Medal and Special President Award in this event.

The success of the Semesta female students in this event certainly cannot be separated from the guidance and assistance provided by the Semesta school through the Science Project Club. In this club, students who are interested in research or scientific work will be trained to think critically and find solutions to problems they encounter in the surrounding environment through research and experiments. They are also provided with regular training and seminars related to scientific work (science projects) starting from the preparation stage to publication. No less important, of course, the students who are members of this club will also be accompanied by experienced teachers related to the research topic of their chosen scientific work. The projects/scientific works created by students will then be tested and evaluated before being registered in Scientific Work/Science Project Competition both in national and international levels.

Apart from the achievements made by Melati and Calista at the CASTIC event, other Semesta students have also made many other achievements in the international stage, especially in the field of science projects, including:

• Atina Qonita & Fourry Baharani who won Gold medal at the International Greenwich Olympiad (IGO), England 2023
