Semesta School consistently organizes social assistance activities every year. In September 2024, Semesta will once again host the Semesta Charity Akbar event for the second time. This year, the Semesta Charity Akbar event coincides with the celebration of the Prophet Muhammad SAW’s birthday. The essence of this Charity activity lies in sharing with orphans and the poor, a practice highly recommended by the Prophet.

As one of the premier international schools in Semarang, Semesta prioritizes not only academic education but also emphasizes moral and character education. The Charity activity serves as a tangible form of character education for students, fostering empathy and compassion. During this initiative, Semesta students, teachers, staff, parents, and even alumni actively participate in collecting donations through food bazaars, direct monetary contributions, and various other means.

The Semesta Great Charity 2024 was a resounding success, thanks to the generous contributions from donors and the dedicated efforts of all involved parties. The event, held on November 21, 2024, at Graha Semesta, saw the participation of around 120 orphans and individuals in need. Representatives from various orphanages, as well as parents, alumni, and local officials, including the Acting Governor of Central Java and representatives of the Education and Social Services departments, graced the occasion.

A total of 611 compensation packages, amounting to over Rp. 180,000,000, were collected during the event. Out of these, 500 packages were distributed to orphanages, while 111 packages were given out as basic necessities to those in need. The distribution efforts extended to 10 orphanages and individuals around the Semesta School campus, including campuses 1, 2, and 3. The distribution took place over Friday and Saturday, with some packages delivered directly to orphanages on Friday, and three orphanages being invited to attend the SGC event at Graha Semesta.

The primary objective of the Semesta Great Charity was to embody the school’s vision and mission, instill empathy, care, and a strong sense of dedication to others, and cultivate a superior, responsive character within the entire school community. We are grateful for the overwhelming support and hope that this impactful social initiative will bring forth blessings and benefits to both donors and recipients.
