Growing with Nature: Semesta Playgroup Outing at Lakers BSB Semarang
Playgroup A and B students learned outside the classroom at Lakers BSB Semarang: feeding animals at the mini zoo, planting tomatoes and decorating pizzas in a cooking class.
On Thursday, October 15, 2026, Playgroup Class A and B students embarked on an exciting journey through the “Growing with Nature” outing program at Lakers BSB Semarang. This program was not just a recreational trip—it was a carefully designed learning experience that allowed children to explore nature, interact with animals, and develop essential life skills outside the classroom.
The day began with cheerful anticipation as teachers and the Lakers Team prepared the students in groups, ensuring everyone was ready for the adventure. Upon arrival, the children were welcomed into the mini zoo, where they had the chance to meet rabbits, birds, and other friendly animals. Feeding and interacting with these animals taught them compassion, responsibility, and the joy of caring for living creatures.
The next activity was planting, where students worked with a familiar vegetable—tomatoes. Guided by the Lakers team and their teachers, the children eagerly took part in each step of the process. They carefully removed the plastic covering from the tomato’s roots, dug into the soil, and gently placed the young plant into its new spot. With smiles and excitement, they completed the planting by patting down the soil and watering the plant. This hands-on experience not only introduced them to the practical steps of gardening but also deepened their appreciation for how plants grow and the patience required to nurture them.
After visiting the mini zoo and completing the planting activity, the students’ excitement grew as they moved on to the final highlight of the outing—the cooking class. With guidance from the Lakers team, the children decorated pizzas, experimenting with toppings and colors. This activity encouraged creativity, fine motor skills, and confidence as they proudly presented their culinary creations.
Throughout the program, teachers observed how the outing strengthened students’ motor skills, creativity, and courage. Parents who accompanied their children also witnessed how learning outside the classroom can be both joyful and meaningful. The combination of nature, animals, and cooking created a holistic experience that blended fun with education.
By the end of the day, students not only gained new knowledge but also built valuable life skills—teamwork, responsibility, and problem-solving. The outing left lasting impressions, reminding everyone that education is most powerful when it connects children to the world around them.
